Our Story

We desire to be a place of His healing presence.

We are a community of Christ followers.   We value God’s truth, the Bible.  We value people, hurting and whole.  We value relationships and community.

The Sanctuary began with prayer services in June of 2006.  Our first services were in a borrowed facility in August of that year.  God grew our fellowship and soon the congregation moved to the auditorium at the Columbia County Library.  As the number of ministry programs increased so did the need for new facilities.

In April 2007 God provided the finance and means to purchase a church building located in the heart of Evans.  This would provide an auditorium, meeting rooms, fellowship space and offices.

In 2010 The Sanctuary completed work on a new 800 seat auditorium with coffee shop, lobby, bookstore and additional office space.

Today The Sanctuary offers three weekly services and more than 50 Connections groups where you can find your place to make new friends, grow in Christ and serve in community.

Our Beliefs

The Bible is the Inspired Word of God

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…  (2 Timothy 3:16)

In the Trinity

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.  (2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ and His Blood Provide the Only Way to Salvation

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  ( John 14:6)
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.  (I John 1:7)

Water Baptism

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit… (Matthew 28:19)

The Lord’s Supper

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.  (1 Corinthians 11:26)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matthew 3:11)

Sanctification

…but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct…  (1 Peter 1:15)

The Church

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)

Divine Healing

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.  (Isaiah 53:5)

Heaven and Hell

The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.  (Psalm 9:17)
…to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you… (1 Peter 1:4)
